Mariko Kawano is a Global Marketing Executive and VP Growth Strategist with 15+ years of experience scaling DTC and omni-channel brands through strategies that accelerate revenue, maximize customer lifetime value, and expand market presence.

Mariko has led multi-million-dollar campaigns with global retailers including Walmart, TD Bank, Hyundai, Levi’s, Under Armour, Sears, and V8, aligning marketing teams across Toronto, Los Angeles, and New York. Her work has included multi-lingual campaigns in English, French, and Spanish—from Puerto Rico to North America—balancing unified brand direction with cultural nuance to maximize impact.

As the founder of Heiwa Honey, Mariko built a purpose-driven ESG brand rooted in sustainability and community, gaining national recognition on CTV and forging province-wide partnerships to amplify environmental awareness. Earlier in her career, she transformed retail marketing for 12 brands across 700+ stores by launching e-commerce platforms, modernizing acquisition strategies, and unifying brand direction across departments.

Mariko is also a professor at Sheridan College’s Pilon School of Business, where she teaches courses in The Creative Process and Brand Storytelling. She emphasizes not only best practices but also “reverse-engineering” failed campaigns—helping emerging leaders sharpen their strategic thinking and learn how brands can rebuild and thrive.

Currently, Mariko is pursuing the TRIUM Global Executive MBA (NYU Stern, London School of Economics, HEC Paris), expanding her expertise in international market growth, brand strategy, innovation, and high-stakes decision-making.

She thrives at the intersection of growth, brand storytelling, and community impact—helping purpose-driven brands scale with creativity, accountability, and results.
